Celebrating Sister Eleanor in El Salvador Procession with picture of Eleanor

Four Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace who have ministered in El Salvador, Grace DiDomenicantonio, Margaret Byrne, Margaret Jane Kling and Susan Dewitt, joined by Sister Peggy O'Neill, SC, presented a photograph of Sister Eleanor Gilmore during Mass in the crypt of the San Salvador cathedral.  Sr. Eleanor loved this people's Mass, which is organized by the "community of Monseñor in the crypt," and honors Monseñor Romero who is buried there.

New Leadership Team Begins Term

Leadership TeamThe new Congregation Leadership Team of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace began their six-year term of office on January 7, 2015, our CSJP Community Day of Thanksgiving. The new leaders were elected during the 22nd Congregation Chapter meeting held September 5-16, 2014, in Seattle, Washington, USA. Sister Sheila Lemieux, CSJP will serve as the Congregation Leader. Other members of the new Leadership Team are Sisters Kristin Funari, Margaret Shannon, Melinda McDonald and Susan Francois.

Celebrating the Year of Consecrated Life 2015

Our Congregation Vocation Director is helping to plan the 5th annual VIVA! Retreat for single Catholic women (20-40) who are seeking the meaning of life by exploring a call to become a Catholic Sister. The weekend retreat will be held in the Archdiocese of Seattle in May 2015. This unique opportunity will include time with other discerners and Catholic Sisters, vocation stories, sharing time, quiet time, Mass, prayer, nature walks, and fun activities. Sisters professing vowsFour Women Profess Vows as Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace

We celebrated the first ever profession of vows at a Congregation Chapter on September 6, with not one but four women professing vows as Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace at a Eucharist liturgy. Dorothy Verna was welcomed into full membership and professed perpetual vows. Katrina Alton, Sheena George, and Juliana Ngozi Iwuagwu made their first profession in the congregation.
