Peace Communities: A New Virtual Initiative for Young Adults

The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace (CSJP) announces the launch of Peace Communities; a new virtual faith-sharing initiative designed specifically for people ages 18-40. Rooted in the congregation’s charism of pursuing peace through justice, these monthly gatherings offer a space for reflection, prayer, and authentic dialogue. The sessions will be led by Marselys Lucero, Director of Peace through Justice for the Congregation and Sister Chero Chuma, CSJP who is a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner as well as the Congregation’s U.S. Vocations Director.

In an increasingly fragmented world, Peace Communities provides a space for young adults inclusive of all faiths and spiritual backgrounds to explore the integration of peace, spirituality, and social action. The initiative debuted this April with regional gatherings in the Pacific Northwest and the Mid-Atlantic/East Coast areas.

Each session will feature meaningful themes, honest sharing, and community building. While the program is rooted in the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace, it is an ecumenical and interfaith-friendly space open to any young adult seeking to create a more just and peaceful world.

Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm ET starting June 9, 2026.
