Women at the Table: Communications

Newsletter 2009

February, 2008 - In this issue WATT introduces a pictorial biography of Margaret Anna Cusack.

August 2006 - WATT is putting together a collection of photographs associated with Margaret Anna Cusack's (MAC) life and work, including places where she stayed after leaving the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. These photographs will be useful in constructing a "virtual" MAC tour of Ireland, England, and the U.S.

Also, copies of MAC's letters to the editor of Ave Maria magazine, written in the 1870s, have been requested and received from the University of Notre Dame Archives. One letter is noteworthy for its being written on this letterhead: "Kenmare Historical and Religious Publications. From the Convent of Poor Clares, Kenmare, Co. Kerry, Ireland." The sidebar lists "just published" works, and the letter is signed "S. M. Francis C Cusack".

June 20, 2006 - Announcing Vol II Studies on the Life/Work of Margaret Anna Cusack, Founder of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace

March 17, 2005 - This issue of the Newsletter is about the WATT things many of us have been participating in so that all of us can share this good news -- something about reversing an old adage to make it new so that the right hand does know what the left hand is doing!

January 1, 2004 - Though we are already 10 days into it, Janet and I take this opportunity to wish you a very happy, healthful and holy New Year, with good cheer and peace in abundance! Since we were last in touch, a group of us presented papers at a conference on women religious of Ireland and England, and we were able to meet with some of our Women at the Table associates in Dublin for a few hours. Here are the details (and a few attached photos):

April 14, 2003 - May 6 is Margaret Anna Cusack’s birthday. Thirty days later, we commemorate her death on June 5 and celebrate FOUNDER’S DAY. Women at the Table invites all Associates, Sisters of Peace, and peacemakers everywhere to journey with Margaret Anna Cusack for these 30 days from May 6 to June 5 using the daily calendar of MAC quotations, WISDOM FROM MARGARET ANNA CUSACK, PeaceWorks, 1999. If you do not have the WISDOM calendar, use “What did she say about…” MARGARET ANNA CUSACK on POVERTY, PeaceWorks, 2002. Join us in this journey of the mind and heart.
