Sisters and Guild* Members Attend Reflection Day

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is darkness, let me bring light... " and so in St. Francis' prayer for peace, suggestions are given for us to find peace. Sr. Marian

Sister Marian Bandille, MFIC in her simple, memorable presentation gave additional suggestions toward finding that inner peace, despite the chaos in the world, and our personal life. Jesus prayed with His followers, but also made time for prayers in solitude. "We must do the same". His demeanor of peacefulness, gentleness and acceptance offers a model foretreatr us to follow and influence others.

Thank you for the gracious hospitality extended to the thirty-five Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace Guild members and Sisters by the St. Francis Missionary Sisters at their home in Tenafly, NJ on October 20, 2011. We spent a spiritual, meaningful day, listening to Sr. Marian's message in the morning, retreatfollowing breakfast, quiet reflective time considering her talk, lunch fellowship, concluding prayer and detailed description of the brilliant stained glass windows in the chapel.

We were given homework-Sister Marian's assignment: Choose one thing to work on in yourself, to become better peacemakers - just one! If we really make the effort to change that aspect of ourselves that is not conducive to peacemaking we will be surprised to find ourselves unconsciously changing others as well".

In the nutshell" Every Act of Love is an Act of Peace" (Mother Teresa).
