Sisters Celebrate Jubilees in the Eastern Region

St. Michael Villa was bursting with energy the morning of April 30 as the Jubilarians arrived and greeted family, friends, and sisters. Their first task - no easy one either - was to locate their corsages, and pin them on each other in such a manner that they would last the duration of the day.
The liturgy began with the congregation singing Blest Are They by David Haas and continued with a proclamation from the Constitutions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. After the homily given by Fr. Bill Morris, chaplain at St. Michael Villa, Sister Margaret Byrne, CSJP, the Congregation Leader invited all Sisters present to "stand and join the jubilarians in renewing their vows". The Sisters responded "In response to God's call to seek justice, to love tenderly, and to walk in the way of peace, I, ______, in the presence of the community gathered here, renew my vows according to the Constitutions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace."
The people present responded "As the community gathered here we joyfully pledge our support as we walk together in the way of peace."
The recessional song, Lover of Us All, by Dan Schutte continued the festiveness of the day - With all the earth we sing your praise!...With sun and moon we 
dance for joy!"
The liturgy was followed by a delicious meal, much dancing, and sharing in the joy of the day.
