Covenanting Day in Rearsby, England
Associate Covenanting Day in the United Kingdom region of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace was held on February 12 in Rearsby, England. The day consisted of two sessions. During the morning session the Sisters and Associates who had gathered for the day listened to an excellent presentation on the early life of Margaret Anna Cusack by Mary Bird, Associate. It was really very interesting as Mary focused on Margaret Anna as a young woman and her decision to enter the Anglican Order prior to her conversion to Catholicism. The morning prayer was prepared and led by Janet and David Gorick, Associates, (both Anglican Priests) and to conclude the morning Sister Joan Ward, CSJP had prepared a Reflection paper taken from Mother Clare's meditations from Easter Sunday to Trinity Sunday 1880 and a letter from Bishop Bagshaw dated 3rd February 1884. Margaret Smidowicz and Mary Essex made their first covenants and six other Associates renewed their covenant in the afternoon.
