Advent Reflection Day...

By Sister Maureen Brennan, CSJP and Sister Kathleen McBride, CSJP.

peopleOn Saturday, November 27 Associates and Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace gathered in Hyson Green, Nottingham for the Advent Reflection Day for Associates and Sisters. The reflection was prepared and led by Rev. Mary Essex who will be making her commitment as a new associate in February. Sister Kathleen McBride, CSJP and Mary Fortey, CSJP-Associate (Co-Directors for the Associate Programme in the United Kingdom) organised the day as part of the Associate Programme.

Mary’s theme for the day was “Hope”, a theme which the prophet Isaiah puts before us each year as we begin our journey through Advent in preparation for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. He invites us to live in hope which will sustain us so that we may help to build God’s kingdom of peace, prosperity and justice for all: Come let us go up to the mountain of the Lord. Isaiah 2:5
