On April 21 the chapel at St. Michael Villa in Englewood Cliffs, NJ was packed to overflowing with the families, friends, Sisters, and Associates who gathered to celebrate the lives of fourteen sisters. These Sisters have spent a total of 810 years ministering in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages, parishes, and the Congregation as authors, teachers, nurses, volunteers, journalists, fund raisers, coordinator of Health Insurance, manager of St. Joseph Messenger, correspondent for St. Joseph Messengeer, as missionaries, administrators, and many other areas of service!

processionThe refrain of the Gathering Song set the theme of the day:

Here I am, God.
Is it I, God?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, God, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

Father Dominc Fuccile,CSJP-Assoc. former chaplain at St.Dominic Michael Villa gave the homily.

Sister Margaret Byrne, CSJP led all of the Sisters as they renewed their vows: "In a spirit of great joy and with God's peace upon us, I invite the Sisters to stand and to join the jubilarians in renewing their vows."

Sisters: "In repsonse to God's call to seek justice, to love tenderly, and to walk in the way of peace, I, _______, in the presence of the community gathered here, renew my vows according to the Consitutions of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace."

Families, friends, and Associates responded "As the community gathered here we joyfully pledge our support as we walk together in the way of peace."

ConnieSister Consuelo Grainger, CSJP, a Diamond Jubilarian, very movingly sang the meditation hymn, Only This I Want.

The jubilarians processed out of the chapel singing:

We are called to act with justice,
We are called to love tenderly,
We are called to serve one another,
To walk humbly with God.
